Meeting minutes (Meeting IV):
- Land committee presented multiple locations. It was decided to check the property on Perrineville Road – Eagle River Day camp.
- Property is 31.5 acres
- 15+ acre is buildable and 16+ acre is freshwater wetlands
- Previous owner went bankrupt so the property is with the bank
- Bank is asking for 2.5 million but there is an offer for 1.5 million. Committee feels we can get it for 1.5 million
- The property has multiple existing dwellings already built which could be used for following:
- Senior center
- Khalsa school
- Office
- Gurudwara sahib
- Kitchen with professional sink and walkable refrigerator
- Athletic fields – basket ball courts, 3 pools, soccer field
- The property has capacity of adding a big gurudwara sahib of upto 50,000 sqft.
- It was decided to get the tour of the property of Saturday, 10/17/2015 with all sangat members.
- IT team presented the website. Everybody provided comments and feedback. The site looks pretty impressive and easy to navigate.
- There was a major discussion on raising the funds. Everyone was encouraged to start making their donations and involving others and collecting finds.
- Donation checks were also collected during the meeting.
- Added few Sikh/Punjabi families’ details (name, address, phone numbers, email addresses) in the database.
- Next step is to involve Sikh families from neighboring towns – Old bridge, Freehold, Marlboro, East Brunswick, etc.
- Discussed to celebrate Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurpurab on Dec 5th in Satvinder Paji basement and invite more Sangat.
- Next meeting will be at Onkar Veerji’s home.
